Help with Ribbon of life assignment:

Pink sheets of questions should be in students' binders; answers can be found at:  http://www.chinookmiddleschool.com/teachers/benton/09fosslinks.htm

Hints to answers for each question on second pink sheet:

#1:  Look at the ribbon of life.  There are eight divisions starting with atoms and ending with Multi-cellular organisms.  Write them in order.  There is one extra line that does not need to be filled in.

#2:   Save this question until you've answered all of the others.  It's a tricky one.  (Part of the answer has to do with "prokaryote" and "eukaryote."

#3:   To answer this question, think about the definition of "organism" on the wall in our room.

#4:  "Basic" means what is at the "base" of all living things, what are they made of, and here it means: what is the smallest living thing that all living things are made of?

#5:  Scroll over the "structures" listed on the organelle page in the Ribbon of Life to find this answer.  Watch what lights up!

#6.  There is one main difference between "prokaryotic" and "eukaryotic."  Look on the cells page.

#7.   Count eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells on the cells page.

#8:   The main difference has to do with the definition of "organism" again.

#9:  Scroll over "tissues" to see definition.  Give examples.

#10:  Answer has to do with "systems."

#11:  Think about what all living things need.
